Greetings, Thanks for the post and Welcome to HP Forums. I understand that you are facing an issue with the monitor where the display resolution has changed, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own. Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you. The issue you are facing could be an issue with the monitor settings or the display adapter settings on your computer. Request you refer to this HP which explains the OSD options available on your monitor. Perform a factory reset using the button on your monitor and if the issue is with the monitor the factory reset would resolve the issue you are facing. If the issue persists, uninstall the display adapter from the device manager on your computer and restart your computer. When you restart your computer a generic driver would be installed and then you can install the driver back using HP Support Assistant or from the Graphics card manufacturer's website.
Let me know if this helped. I see manier people have the same problem, and is it always this Windows 10? Canon Powershot Sx500 Is Manual Download more. My problem: On start up clearly the monitor displays well, in correct format, 1920x. Then, after the windows window disappears, than the OS comes up in full force, and yeah, small resolution, 1280x. It went wrong during work some days ago, it didn't go black, it just flipped into a lower resolation, and I thought, oh well, let's see when I restart.
And since then it remains low. What did I do, install and uninstall drivers for the card, for the monitor (2 seperate things). Now all are greyed out.
I followed all instructions, did more, because I was very much in informatics, and a troubleshooter. Installing Php Windows. This OS is faulty in manier aspects. And it always states that the screen is driven by the default window screen driver. Strange to me, the card and the monitor acknowledge that their driver is OK, also downloading from HP-website. So it seems to me my Windows 10 is stubborn?
My montor is HP S320tm, but the problem is not the monitor itself, this forum has a lot of monitors with the same problem. I already uninstalled the monitor driver, **bleep** down and installed the advice of HP itself: sp73334.exe, twice now: no change. But also twice, it reports that I'm forbidden, then it continues to install, and says everything is installed. I see no option for overriding or desinstall the default windows driver. Hp Tuners File Repository on this page. Can you be more specific? Is it also the card? Do you want a logfile of what happened, and if so, which one (because they are lengthy).
I also installed Winzip system utilities suite (Corel). It has a driver updater, never reports a problem. Thnaks for the reply.
