I am currently using win 7 home, and it is giving me some problems such as not loading my integrated webcam and keyboard drivers. When I go to device manager, I can see the drivers, but the software is nowhere to be found on my computer.
I am also getting 'windows 7 not genuine errors' and a black screen b/c my product key is not valid with win 7 home. I guess my question is, is there any place I can get a valid and real copy of win 7 pro oa (x16-96076) for free and redo my computer using my product key that I already have? Hi, My laptop recently crashed trying to uninstall 'Dell Data Safe Local Backup'. With no support, I have decided to try and fix my laptop, which I believe still has the data in it. What I think is that I will be able to install a fresh new copy of Windows 7 Pro, using a downloaded legal version of the Windows7.iso from Digital River, and then use the Windows 7 Pro OA Key. The problem here is that the key has now faded out. Also, the Reinstallation DVD that came with my Dell Vostro 1520 doesn't seem to be detected in my laptop, and really is no help to me.
Can anyone help me out here? Can I ask Dell, if they can provide me the Windows 7 Key that was shipped with my laptop?
OR Can they ship me a DVD that can reinstall Windows 7 Pro on my laptop? Thanks and Regards, Bhupendra Fathnani. Hi, Thanks for the reply. In the past, when my laptop was still working (when the hard disk hadn't crashed), I tried to reinstall the factory version of Windows 7.
The Reinstallation Disk couldn't get detected. I had purchased Windows 7 Pro with XP Downgrade option, and so had two disks. However, even the factory version of Windows XP wasn't getting detected. Is it possible that the reinstallation disk that I procure from eBay or Amazon or my friends or Dell may not work again?
And if it works, will the Windows copy be valid? My understanding is that OA version of Windows on laptops don't need license keys to get validated at the time of install, or even after it is installed, because authenticity of Windows is kind of embedded in the laptop itself.
