HP has declared that Most HP printers in use with Windows 7 or Windows 8 will continue to work smoothly without the need to reinstall drivers. If you upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8, your HP Deskjet printer should have worked with no problems.
Hi I tried to install the driver using the CD given in the package. Hp Amd Athlon 64 X2 Drivers more. Followed the instrustion step by step as it was shown on the screen. This didnt work. An icon appeared which said the driver had not been installed. I went on the HP website and enter the printer and my opertating system (Windows 7) 32-bit.
I downloaded the driver which came up (DJ240_188) this still didnt work it also took me through the same process that the CD did. I tried going to control panel- devices and printer the printer iron showned a troubleshoot icon next to it. I tried going to control panel - Driver Manager - other devices - HP Deskjet 2540 Series- double clicked on update driver- search automatially for update diver software. After the computers search a massage say ' Windows encounted a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempt ing to install it.
