I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who has experience with stappenmethode, especially in a scholastic environment, who would not give it a wholehearted endorsement. It is going to be different from the Seirawan series in that it is going to throw very many more patterns at you, much more repetition and practice.

I'm a couple hundred points above that with years of experience (peak 2000 in a past chess life -- currently mid 1700s) and I've failed several of the chapters and rage quit a few times on the orange books. Hard work is the key to success though, and if you're willing to put in the effort, have a book laugh in your face, and reap the rewards, the Yusupov books are the way to go.
